"If you had told me a few years ago that I’d become someone who actually enjoys going to the gym, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. For a long time, I was self-conscious and gym-phobic. I worried about being judged. I felt like everyone knew what they were doing except me, and I didn’t want to look like I didn’t belong. I also struggled with motivation. The thought of getting fit and changing my lifestyle just felt too hard. I didn’t know where to start, and it was easier to keep putting it off. Then, in April 2024, I took my first brave step and organised a walkthrough of Fitness Cartel Morayfield. That one decision changed everything. I started with a Personal Trainer, which gave me the confidence to learn how to use the equipment, understand what I was doing and, most importantly, actually get started. Having someone there to guide me helped break down the barriers I had built up in my own head. Since January 2025, I’ve been training on my own, and the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency is the key. It hasn’t been about being perfect. It’s been about showing up, making better choices and creating a completely different lifestyle. And the results have been pretty incredible: 📉 Body fat: 31% → 15% ⚖️ Body weight: 105kg → 82kg 🔥 Visceral fat: 13 → 6 📊 Obesity degree: 42% → 12% 📏 Changes in physical measurements But the biggest change isn’t just in the numbers. It’s in how I feel. The supportive community at Fitness Cartel has played a huge part in that. The encouragement, motivation and positive energy have helped me keep showing up and pushing myself. The Fitness Cartel vibe is honestly the most motivational I’ve ever experienced in a gym. I never thought I’d say that about myself, but I actually want to go to the gym now. Taking that first step was scary. But sometimes, you just have to be brave enough to walk through the door. If you’re feeling self-conscious, intimidated or like it’s all just too hard — I get it. I was that person. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to take the first step. And for me, that first step started with a walkthrough at Fitness Cartel Morayfield. 💪 Consistency. Community. Lifestyle change. That’s what has made the difference for me. And I’m definitely not finished yet. 🚀"

"After a long break from looking after my own health due to focusing all my time and energy into my children, especially my oldest son who was born with severe disabilities, I finally got the motivation to begin looking after myself again and joined Fitness Cartel. My son requires full time care including lots of lifting and manual handing. I found my body was not up to the task and mentally I was drained. Getting back into training has allowed me to build back the strength needed to lift him, his wheelchair and other medical aids, without the worry of injury to myself. He’s only getting bigger so I need to push myself to lift heavier! And it’s had a positive impact on my own mental health too, allowing me time and space to not just be a mum or carer, but me. Finally realising I cannot pour from an empty cup, so I now take the time to train which helps fill my cup in more ways than one."

"Back in September 2024, I made a decision that changed my life. At that point, I was struggling with alcohol, had completely lost my self-control, and honestly believed I’d never become the strong, confident person I used to be again. I’d had so many false starts—promising myself I’d change, only to end up drinking again—that I’d almost given up hope. Then one day, I saw the Transform8 Challenge at Fitness Cartel pop up on my feed. I thought, why not? Maybe if I could get through 8 weeks without drinking and commit to the gym, I’d lose a couple of kilos, feel a little better, and at least prove to myself that I could finish something. I had no idea that one decision would completely change the course of my life. Those first few weeks were incredibly hard. Everything hurt. The DOMS were brutal, the urge to drink was always there, and I was nowhere near as strong as I used to be. Even simple movements were difficult because my stomach got in the way, and I’d get lightheaded so easily. Some days I would get exhausted even putting my shoes on to leave for the gym. But I kept showing up. I showed up for myself. I showed up for my kids because I wanted to be a better role model. I showed up for my husband because I wanted to be a better wife. I showed up because I wanted to become someone I could be proud of again. Some days I cried before walking through the doors. Looking at myself in the mirrors was hard—not because of my weight, but because I felt ashamed of how far I’d let myself drift from the person I knew I could be. I remembered loving the gym, loving classes, loving cardio, and being fit. I couldn’t understand how I’d ended up so far from that version of myself. But every single time I walked into Fitness Cartel, I was welcomed. The staff were always encouraging, and over time the familiar faces became friends—or at least the people you smile or nod to because you see each other every day. That sense of community made it so much easier to keep coming back. Fast forward 18 months, and my life looks completely different. I’m more than 40 kgs lighter. I’ve been alcohol-free since the day I started that first challenge. And now, I’m just seven weeks away from stepping onto a bodybuilding stage for my very first competition. I’ve pushed through the days I didn’t want to train, the days I genuinely felt like I couldn’t. I’ve trained through sickness, stress, anxiety, busy work, family life, crippling DOMS, shame, guilt about putting myself first, and the daily battle of overcoming addiction. And I’m still here. The biggest thing I’ve gained isn’t just weight loss—it’s belief in myself. I’ve proven that I can regain control. I’ve proven that I can do hard things. I’ve discovered a level of determination and resilience I never knew I had. A few months before turning 40, I’m preparing to stand on a bodybuilding stage—not to prove anything to anyone else, but to prove to myself that I’m worth the effort. That I’m stronger than I ever realised. That my past doesn’t define my future. It all started with what I thought would be “just another gym challenge.” Instead, it gave me my life back. Fitness Cartel became so much more than a place to exercise. It became the place where I rebuilt my confidence, my discipline, my health, and ultimately, myself. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: you don’t have to believe you’ll succeed—you just have to be willing to start. One decision, one workout, one day at a time can completely change your life. It certainly changed mine."

"From 161.8kg a few years ago to 79.5kg. Sometimes it’s hard to believe those two numbers belong to the same person. When I first walked into a gym, I was intimidated and had no idea where to start. I wasn’t thinking about being shredded, stepping on a stage or toying with the idea of working in fitness. I just wanted to become healthier and take control of my life. Fitness Cartel became the place where that started to happen. One workout became two. Two became hundreds. After gaining a little confidence I got myself a Personal Trainer, Tim His guidance, support and belief in me helped shape the discipline and mindset that carried me through the hardest parts of the journey. Along the way, I lost more than 80kg, but the biggest transformation wasn’t physical. I gained confidence, resilience and a completely different belief in what I was capable of. Today, I weigh less than half of what I once did and I’m preparing for to step on stage in a transformation category. I’m also studying my Cert IV in Fitness and Nutrition, because I want to help others who feel the way I once did. Fitness Cartel isn’t just another gym. It gave me the environment, support and people that helped me completely change the direction of my life. If someone reading this is scared to walk through those gym doors for the first time, I’d want them to know that I once stood exactly where they are. I walked through those doors at 161.8kg with no idea where the journey would take me.Every transformation starts with one step, mine was walking through those doors."

"Fitness didn't just change my body. It gave me my life back. For 22 years, I gave everything I had serving my community. In return, I walked away with CPTSD, clinical depression and anxiety. There were times I felt like I'd lost everything that made me who I was. My confidence. My direction. Even my sense of purpose. Life has a way of breaking you down, and for a long time I wasn't living—I was simply surviving. One day, I made a decision. I wasn't working 12-hour shifts anymore, so I couldn't keep telling myself I didn't have time. I made a deal with myself: one hour a day. That's all. I pulled up my big girl pants, walked into a gym, and started chasing a healthier body—but more importantly, a healthier mind. About 12 months into my journey, I found Fitness Cartel completely by accident. I was visiting a wheelchair-bound friend in Queensland, and we'd planned to train at another gym. When we arrived, we discovered it wasn't wheelchair accessible. We jumped on Google, found the nearest Fitness Cartel, and headed there instead. The moment I walked through those doors, I knew this place was different. The atmosphere. The equipment. The people. The energy. It wasn't just a gym—it was an experience. Something inside me shifted that day. For the first time in a long time, I felt inspired. The only problem? I live in Sydney, where there isn't a Fitness Cartel. When I returned home, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I missed the environment, the culture, and most of all, how that place made me feel. What started as an accidental visit became the catalyst for one of the biggest decisions of my life: I'm now planning my move to Queensland. Fitness Cartel became so much more than somewhere to train. It became my therapy. My routine. My reset button. Every workout reminded me that I was capable of doing hard things. Every early morning alarm. Every session I didn't feel like showing up for but did anyway. Every small victory slowly rebuilt the woman I'd forgotten still existed. Yes, my body changed. But that's not the transformation I'm most proud of. I'm proud of the resilience I've built. I'm proud that I chose consistency over excuses. I'm proud that I finally started investing in myself instead of waiting for someone else to save me. Fitness Cartel has given me far more than world-class equipment. It has given me hope. It has given me confidence. It has given me an environment that inspires me to become better every single day. My journey isn't over, —and maybe it never will be. I have visited 13/16 FC gyms to date and crave to tick them all off. Today, I'm healthier. Stronger. Happier. And for the first time in a very long time, I'm genuinely excited about what comes next. If my story encourages just one person to walk through those doors and believe change is possible, then sharing it is worth it. Because sometimes the greatest transformation isn't the body you build... It's the life you rebuild."

"At the start of 2024 I was 153kg, and I decided to finally lock in and lose weight and look after myself. By the end of 2024 I was 100kg, so losing 53kg total in a year, I did this by picking the right diet for me and hitting the gym hard. Since then the lowest I’ve gotten down to is 94kg, so just under 60kg lost in total and still pushing to reach 90kg. It’s definitely been an up and down journey. The hardest part being the mental part. I’ve become so passionate about being healthy and fit, I’ve even started studying to become a personal trainer, so I can help people in similar situations to myself."

"Postpartum is HARD. Fitness cartel has honestly made it soooo much easier for me to cope with everything that is involves with the postpartum changes. The creche was an absolute godsend. I have 2 kids that were with all the time (which of course I am grateful for) as my partner works full time. Fitness cartel allowed me develop a healthy routine for myself and my health which has already rubbed off on my kids. Some days they say they don't want to go to the gym (very rare) and I teach them discipline. In saying that, they both love coming which makes it so much easier for me to fall back in love with strength training. Now I'm completely addicted again. Cannot reccomend this place enough 🫶"

"10 months. 17kg gone. 💪 What started as a weight loss goal turned into something so much bigger. I’ve become stronger, healthier, and more confident than I ever imagined all thanks to Fitness Cartel! There were challenges along the way (2 bulging discs, tennis elbow), but I kept showing up. Every workout, every healthy choice, and every small step added up. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come—and I’m not done yet! ❤️"

"My Name is Peter and I am 52 years old. I have struggled with obesity for most of my adult life. 5 years ago I made a decision that would change my life. I tried a lot of variations of weight loss, from shakes to fad diets which would work for a while and then I would just get bigger. I then made the decision to have Gastric Sleeve surgery, before surgery I was around the 140 kg mark. Since the surgery I have lost almost 50kg’s. I had lost a fair chunk of that before I started coming to Fitness Cartel, 3 years ago I started working with Tracey (PT) and completed a 8 week challenge which I won to my surprise. I would not of been able to do this without the help of Tracey and the other members of the gym. 5 years ago I would have not believed I could have achieved as much as I have.I have never felt happier and healthier than I am now. I would just like to say if I can do it so can you, find tool and go get it."
